In World War II Taggart’s grandfather flew Spitfires out of an airfield in Southern England. An important part of his kit was a No. 6B wrist compass. If he was ever forced to bail out over occupied Europe, that compass and the silk “Escape and Evasion” map in his pocket, were meant to find the French Resistance, and eventually Allied territory. Taggart inherited this memento, which he still keeps in a glass case in the lodge trophy room.
Inspired by his fighter-pilot grandfather’s example, Taggart keeps a similar compass on his wrist when he is out hunting or canoe tripping. The lightweight and accurate Cammenga Model J582T Tritium Wrist Compass provides easy on-the-go referencing for land navigation both day and night. It is built with a machined aluminum casing for durability in the most demanding conditions. The 10-degree phosphorescent graduations are enhanced with Tritium Micro Lights for visibility in total darkness.
